We recently stayed at the Kebun Villas & Resort on Lombok. Its a nice place to base yourself to explore the island, to sit back and relax, set in a stunning garden, with the option of hotel style rooms ( I would ask for a ground floor pool side room ) and also villas ( we stayed in the Villa it was great). It is a well priced option for families( good deals through Booking.com) . The breakfast was adequate catering for a very international guest base, very friendly and attentive staff. The room service was very quick, great if you have hungry kids to feed, and the linen and beds very comfy. The bathrooms were lovely (although a fleeting bad smell from the drain system, which was promptly sorted out by maintenace staff and very common in Indonesia). Some of the non slip surfaces are a little dirty , however these are difficult to keep clean. Overall definately worth considering if you are planning a trip to Lombok. It is approxiately just over an hour from the International Airport, you can catch a boat to the Gilis ( approx 1 hour boat trip) off Senggigi Beach which is a 2 minute walk across the road. Or you can drive up the beautiful coast for approx 30 minutes and catch a speed boat to the Gilis ( about 10 minute trip) This was my preferred option as I get really sea sick.
