So once again after some late night scrolling through Instagram, I came across this little gem which was just perfect for what I was after. I read mostly positive reviews across several pages and asked a few of you for your opinions which were again mostly positive, so booked a little three night getaway for a friends 40th. Its weird how spookily the internet knows what I have been looking up as I was sent an email offer via Booking.com too good to be true, for the Pool View Room, I had been umming and arhhhhing about, for just $63 per a night, Boom !!! Booked that immediately and started to get worried about some comments of itchiness and lumpy beds as my stay loomed near.
So Centra Taum is about 3 years old I believe ( I could of just made that up) and is in the heart of all the best shopping and dining out options Bali has to offer. Its on the little road which tucks in behind Ultimo and cuts through to Jl Petitenget near Villa Lumbung if anyone knows the area and I think the road is called Jl Beraban. With a modest little entrance and reception area I was greeted with those warm friendly smiles and terribly sweet orange welcome drinks we all kind of love ( not really but hey we have just arrived in Bali) and was mesmorised by the beauty of the lovely pool below. I was ushered to my room and should of taken a little more notice of the route as it was slighly tricky finding my way back after a few afternoon and dinner vinos.
The room its self was lovely and spacious, bed and linen very clean and incredibly comfy, the air con worked and the bathroom as clean as possible ( some staining in the stone and non slip surfaces which is common in Bali, but not anything I would be bothered with) .
I didnt eat at the hotel as there are so many other fantastic options around the island, however the restaurant is poolside and looked lovely. The pool gets the mid morning through until mid afternoon sun so was lovely for baking or swimming, I really should of made more use of this during my stay.
As with many hotels in Bali it does need a little maintenance however if its just a base and beautiful pool you are wanting then this may just be the spot for you. I would definately go back and perhaps the pool view rooms on level 1 might be my pick or I think perhaps Room 101 is a 3 bedroom Apartment which may be perfect for families or groups travelling as it is opens on directly to the pool.
